Well fuck.
I posted that “Happiness is a choice” and it was based on a conversation I had at work about someone being grumpy on a project.
What I didn’t consider in my hast to post something I thought was being insightful is how difficult that can be when suffering from depression.

I strongly encourage anyone suffering to seek help. If you need assistance with finding a resource, DM me and I’ll see what I can do.
But there can be ecenomic barriers to those things. For example, if you're poor, it might be difficult to get access to therapy or meds. Sometimes, people can be busy with life, leading them to not have time or the energy to change habits.

I can set myself up to be happy but there are circumstances which may stop me from feeling happy. But I made the choice to set myself up for happiness. I have a choice to be open to happiness.
Money buys ease of life, which allows happiness to blossom more because you don't have to work as hard ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Spoken by me, with an adult life struggle with depression and anxiety and a boatful of poor coping strategies that I am trying to undo every day.
