It is about to drop 40 degrees in 12 hours here in central Texas. Bring in your pets. Turn off and wrap outdoor faucets. Fill up your cars. Charge external batteries. Fill up water bottles. Do the dishes/have paper plates. Get enough pet food and human food for a few days. TAKE A SHOWER (pro tip).

In addition to your neck, make sure your waist and ankles are covered.
Don't open the fridge/freezer if you can help it
Place a penny on top of a cup of ice, and place in freezer. If it's not there when power comes back your freezer got above freezing
Cancun or Tjuana
Merino wool for preference
When the February 2021 deadly freeze hit, I was desperate for the power to be restored, for the water to run, for any semblance of heat.
But what I enjoyed the most was being able to shave and clean myself days later.
I’m all bathed and ready this time!
Make sure you know where the flashlights are
If you can’t wrap outdoor faucets, leave your spigots at a drip
Put boots by the door.
Find your warm gloves.
Do a load of laundry
Fill the bathtub with water (for flushing toilets in case of power outage)
And you need to rotate your stock of them frequently!
(I mean, a bottle of caffeine pills could also be emergency backup caffeine, and not need stock rotation, but that's boring.)
For real though, I’ve been doing caffeine pills for a while now, I gave up caffeine for a while and realized my brain needs it. Helps me focus and function better. So rather than sodas and coffee I switched to pills. Now just have coffee occasionally.
Plus, when he gets focused he gets shit done and does the dishes afterwards.
I've had times I've been addicted to caffeine, but usually I'm just having it every day.
And I really like coffee :-)
To drink: dilute to desired strength, add whatever you want, heat it up or drink it cold
I like it with sweetened condensed milk similar to Vietnamese coffee
Requires extreme excavation to dig a foundation.
We all have rock bars to break up the limestone just to dig a small hole to put a plant in the ground.
