Moreover, I remain gravely concerned with all privacy reforms that discriminate by age. It is paradoxical to demand that websites track or infer a user's age before deciding what privacy protections to give them.

Despite the "we're totally not imposing age-gating" clause, this bill in practice would force platforms into that posture to avoid liability. It gives state Attorneys General and Trump's FTC the ability to start frivolous litigation over an online forum's actions.
