Technical interview for a software engineer position in 2 and a half hours!
This will be my first technical interview, so I'm pretty nervous. I've been preparing, but if anyone has some last minute tips I'd love to hear them <3

- want to understand how you approach writing code
- am feeling out your vibe to see if you’d fit the team
Just think out loud, have fun with it, don’t be too serious.💖
But also uhhh, when that new Chicago place is ready, if you're looking for engineers, lmk 👀
It’s quantum stuff, but that’s above my pay grade. I’m just looking for python people and SQL and a bit of (internal) front end work
If they ask you to do Towers of Hanoi in JSON or some other inane nonsense techbro BS just walk away. You don't want to work there. :)
Thank youuu
you are interviewing them as well. What does a typical day look like for your team members (is your team part of the interview)? Can the team build the software stack without help? What does a build look like? A release? Tests?
ok the most useful tip i can give is to do some high intensity interval cardio outside (more O2, less CO2) until 15 minutes before your interview as a pressure valve for nervous energy and to increase the oxygen and blood flow to your brain
I'm pretty good at talking through my work, asking questions, and showing that I know how to work on it rather than just showing that I can do something
- let the interviewer know what you're thinking - it feels weird chatting your thoughts out loud but it really helps the interviewer
- ask more questions
- if the interviewer gives you a "nudge" follow their lead
- TESTS
- seriously, tests/edge cases go a long way
good luck!
You're a coder, you're a hardware hacker, you're a problem solver and you win people over left and right wherever you go. You got this, Juni! 🫂🩷🩵
“Trick question.”
I got picked over another engineer a few years back as he never thought to ask for help. We don’t know all the answers but between us we can find a solution to anything.
Go on and knock it out!
