It's especially bad since so many Californians came here with their CA home equity and incomes - now houses cost double (or more) but AZ incomes aren't rising to meet it.

The house next door rents for 3x our mortgage.

I’m from AZ, but actually moved back from CA during the pandemic.

You might think it is California’s fault, but this is the case for housing across the country. Just feels like CA did it since it is close to us. CA’s housing went up by even more itself.

Yeah, it's disgusting. Having proximity to Detroit no longer means land is abundant and homes are cheap—quite the opposite. It's not 2007 and hasn't been for quite some time.
