That's my dream! I had planned to go other times but was derailed by covid closures, weather, etc. But I want to go very badly and hope to do so as soon as I can
I was last there around Labor Day. We left Durango, CO and took incredibly beautiful Navajo Route 13 through the Lukachukai Mountains. Active cowboys on this narrow, geographically unique, mountain road. Magical.
Heartbreakingly beautiful writing. I first became aware of you when you predicted that T would win in 2016, and I thought, oh come on, that sleazy, corrupt vulgarian? I learned to listen to you. I have a lot of grief but am still here fighting for my country.
[Anderson and Carter] also speculated on what would happen if Trump wins the presidency.
“Well, Graydon and I would share a bunk in the internment camp,” Andersen said, as Carter laughed, and the two agreed that the White House would be “shiny.”
I always love to read your writings to refine what wisdoms I’ve already learned from you. It’s always a renewing strength for me. Thanks for showing strength through love, the everlasting strength. 🩵
Your phrase, "There is beauty in truth," instantly brought to mind Keats: "Beauty is truth, truth beauty, that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.”
Your writing is so soulful and moving, so beautiful @sarahkendzior.bsky.social. I am sad with you, sad for us all, sad no one listened to either of us. Your voice reached out to the world, mine to those close to me. Now, there are days when there’s no point speaking at all, I just feel buried alive.
This is so lovely and heart rending. I thank you for capturing one of my favorite parts of our country so beautifully. And for the reminder that we must keep loving and living as best we can.
Thanks for taking us on this roadtrip. The O’Keefe one, and the one you’ve been taking us on for a decade, across flyover country.
I admire you for continuing to love so much a nation that hasn’t given much in return. You’re a prophet, Sarah, and like for all prophets, your quest must feel lonely.

I recommend you also visit Canyon de Chelly if you have a chance. Extremely special.

Thanks for everything, Sarah.
Excellent writing, as always, conjuring the stark beauty of O'Keeffe.
🖤🤍
Almost like I was there! Thank you and sorry for enduring the searing heat, especially at The White Place 🙏
