From now on, when I post a good NYT piece & someone responds with caustic attacks on the newspaper, I’m gonna block ‘em. I have plenty of criticisms of the newspaper myself, but I subscribe to it bc it has tons of great reporting & opinion pieces & it’s annoying to get into this tedious loop

It's just like Fox News used Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace (no angels themselves) to legitimize all their evil. Don't fall for it.
"I used to like Ben & Jerry's ice cream but there were too many chocolate chips in that last tub of Cherry Garcia I had, and now I hate all Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Shame on you for giving them a good write-up! Shame, shame, shame on you!" 🗯️
This is just one example of NYT's presidential campaign coverage👇
NYT's "but her email" garbage is never ending loop.
No one is stopping you supporting it.
But what we think of it is another matter.

Classic copy.
NYT commodified our rage just like Fox did on the Right. I wish the discourse talked about THAT occasionally. It’s been very profitable for them.
But NYT actually still has good journalism. Unlike Fox.
The truth is a mix of both, so I understand posting/sharing/reading sometimes. But surely they shouldn't be beyond criticism when someone does!
i subscribed for ~ 35 years & agree entertainment, restaurant, metro NYC & international news desks are often 👍🏼
but the DC & national news reek so bad rn I couldn’t continue to pay for paper👇🏼
also: blaming customers is often beginning of end of an org😉

Okay, that's enough cliches for one post. 😅
• IMO contributed substantially to our current mess w/ its relentless bothsiderism
• Continues printing folks like Stephens, Douthat, Brooks, et al.
Hope this doesn’t cause you to block. I’d be bummed.
Let these posers cling to their 20th century civility shit. The rest of us have literal Nazis to fight.
I think if somebody posts a Fox News link, I think criticism is warranted. The good stuff in NYT is admittedly better than any good at Fox News, but the bad stuff is every bit as bad. 1/3
I hope you'll reconsider. Mighty Big TV forever. 3/3
Like, reading/sharing the NYT is problematic, but when it's really good, it's pretty valuable and arguably worth doing. But I think saying "good piece but oof, they sure do hate trans people" is appropriate.
