You should remember the dammed EU "budgetary austerity". The frugal/stingy "rich" Member States have a lot of "fiscal space", the "profligate" ones, haven't it. Ask Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki about this. There is no way to fund rearmament/green without more public spending.

stocks are dwindling in Nato, in particular ammunition. It will put a timeline on the conflict.

My predictions is that it will be Germany that will instigate negotiations between the two sides.

To a certain extend would a continued conflict only be in the interest of US and China!

Italy (Meloni) in particular has been a whole lot of talk, while providing very little. Germany gets all the bad press (deservedly bc of Scholz’ bs appeasement) but does MUCH more than France or Italy. Poland’s support has also been overrated for a while now
