This is exactly what I have been thinking about! We need to publicly show our support for federal workers like we did during the pandemic. Yard signs, signs in building windows, on overpasses. I wish we could have an “adopt a Fed” thing where we could give tangible support to folks losing jobs, etc.
I wonder if people know why we have a federal workforce. It’s not efficient or the lowest price. It does maintain a foundational structure the rest of the USA is built on. Employees have piles of regulations to follow. That’s to ensure non bias fairness and stability

My former colleagues at USEPA are the most dedicated, hardest working people. They work tirelessly to make sure people have clean air, water, and land.

I have 34 staff who work remotely and they are all hard workers. I could not ask for better staff. They are all over America...so how is returning us to the office going to make them better?
Our office is the same. We are located geographically around the country to ensure a quick, less expensive on-site response in the field as needed. Sitting in an office hundreds of miles from those I work with just means they pay for space that isn't value added.

My daughter lost her job today with USDA, a university researcher & was still on probation. There’s plenty upset among other researches/university folks. For now university plans to pay her with other funds while she appeals.
I have fed some gov't agencies & contractors. Some doing boring work & some umm-- clandestine. . . These are just average people doing jobs, having families, being on your softball league, etc. But if they don't work you will feel it.
My parents, sibling, most my whole family worked in the gov./military. They kept the 🚂on⏰ & the 💡on. They kept the🇺🇸, u safe, ur 💧safe, ur food safe, ur 💵safe. My mother spent her career, before she died young of cancer, getting lead paint out of ur home & schools.

Husband and I are both fed workers. He’s a very calm and chill guy so to see him riddled with anxiety over all of this breaks my heart. He works for NOAA and we all know how the MAGA crowd feels about science. Our hope is that one of us will not get fired so we can keep our heads above water.
