The problem we face now is that the agglomeration of the "entertainment" industry has largely swallowed up professional media journalism so the barriers to entry for a new and truly professional...

2/ news outlet is quite high. The revenue stream from starting small and trying to grow is not sufficient to maintain a professional journalism enterprise. We wind up with atomized coverage and blogs, some of them meaningful (Bulwark, maybe, or Politico) but their reach is tiny in comparison to
