Hmm..maybe. There is a point at which the constitution is no longer in effect. At that time, it is just self destructive to be the only ones playing by a set of rules that no longer has effect. It seems worthwhile to know where that line is _before_ we cross it.

If it gets to it where the Executive is completely off the reservation and acting in full reality as a law onto himself, I would want the military to close off the bases and step aside. Not to choose a side.

We have allowed the military to bleed into the civilian as it is.

Certainly the 2nd amendment has been no help in this.

Maybe the less inflammatory question is "does there exist a method of law enforcement that can act before the mechanism of law enforcement itself is intractably politicized?" Those of us without scholarship in this area are hoping experts will have answers.
