Was looking at some cave paintings online and they made my mind reel again. Imagine a person kneeling in firelight, projecting their understanding of a thing onto the rock by placing a visible border around it. How the hell did that come to us, it's an unadulterated miracle

The mind reels at the possibility of such continuous cultural understanding.

Prehistoric folks seemingly invented air brushing, and that's effing wild
We are meant to be more than jumped up prey who fought back with sticks and stones
And now theres people who just wanna automate that
*Adjusts his glasses*
And the movement in so many of the images, I want to see some cave painting in flickering firelight.

Knowing how art works, we can safely assume that these artists spent many, many hours practicing on perishable material which does not survive. Only after putting the hard work to learn the techniques did they finally make their masterpieces.
