NEX has a lot of institutional power to maintain stuff even after the chain has largely abandoned it. It's not so far afield from regular McD's products that they can't find someone to make the components for them, and it uses the same equipment, etc.

After being tested on the west coast for a couple years, The Big N Tasty got a national rollout in 2000, with a Kobe Bryant-centric ad campaign, and as a cross-promotion for the February 2001 opening of Disney's California Adventure, which had its own special McDonald's, known as "Burger Invasion"

Burger was never sold at DCA, however. Just Big Macs, Double Cheeseburgers, McNuggets and salads. And I infamously got food poisoning there at preopening Media/VIP party on 2/7/01. Almost wound up in ER. Probably should have gone.

I remember they tried it out here in Hong Kong too. Didn't last too long. If memory serves, ppl here were resistant to anything Quarter Pounder sized for ages until they launched the Angus Burger as a "signature series". It's a gussied up Quarter Pounder, but it's still on the menu to this day.

American M here (there are two of us on the account) and this was one of countless McDonald’s efforts to sell a burger with lettuce and tomato to compete with BK’s Whopper. First I recall seeing as a child was around 1980 in South Carolina called the Quarter Pounder Plus. The most famous was McDLT.

A regular seasonal burger in the UK, unique patty, cheese and sauce. Served with a bacon variant (although McDonalds bacon is atrocious) and sometimes with a spicy version too
