I just learned that Florida has the most book bans in the country; some titles include 'Diary of Anne Frank,' 'The Kite Runner,' and 'The Bluest Eye.'
I'm ashamed to live here, and as an educator/parent, you best believe I'll continue to read these stories and share them w/ my child #Booksky #Books

Second state in book banning: Iowa.
Shown by irrational fear
Weak and paranoid
We could stop the banning, if we all ban together?
That’s why they ban books.

Why was Anne Frank’s diary banned? I don’t understand 🤔
They got 58.4% and 57.6% respectively but still didn’t pass because 60% was required. So even though the majority of people voted for them, they both still failed.
You sound like a Great Mum!
If you would like to read the book you want to read
Cubans/latinos in FL who listen to that crap vote for traitor trump & call Dems “communists” who ‘censor’ speech while trump praises his commie bros xi+kju & FL GOP enact laws to censor speech & ban books🤦🏽♀️

“Florida has the third-highest percentage of adults lacking basic prose literacy skills of 19.7%, equaling a literacy rate of 80.3%.”
Regardless, post still works.
Doesn't help the Republicans' agenda.
Don't want stupid and hate as my healthcare workers...
Let kids in high school read it but not elementary school
Source? Grimms Fairy Tales, of course.
Besides, a second-grader isn't going to be checking out "The Diary of Anne Frank" on their own. That's an absurd proposition.
That’s wasn’t the book that people were angry about.
It’s not the book behind the opposition to the “don’t say gay” legislation.
When did people start fighting to put sexually explicit content in the public schools?
The issue is sexually explicit books in elementary schools.
You don’t support that content in elementary schools, do you?
It shouldn't have been banned, but it's important to know why it was: anti-LGBT sentiment and prudishness.
