One of my friends’ next door neighbour was a wheelchair user and, as it was a narrow street, people frequently parked like that outside his house, so he couldn’t even get out. She took pleasure in reporting each and every one she saw to police.

My street has just got a 20 mph limit, but it’s hardly needed it for the past decade. You have to pick your way through the parked cars, assuming you’ll need to stop to let others pass or vice versa. It’s more like 10mph in practice.

Not just mums and pushchairs. Various disabilities affected by this - blind people, anyone with mobility issues (walking frame, mobility walker, etc) - not just prams and wheelchairs negatively affected by pavement parking.

I'm a driver. If I see idiot parking like that when walking, I now walk down the middle of the road and make cars wait. Time to choose. Do cars want the pavement or the road? My friend has to use a mobility scooter *because she lost a leg to a bad driver*. Being forced into the road is traumatic.

Yes, I've been known to force my pushchair along the side of cars parked like this as we squeeze past'; it doesn't improve the body work.
