Congrats to @theguardian.com for co-launching the #89PercentProject - reminding us yet again that vast majority of world’s people want climate action. The climate denial of the populist right is the minority. The media needs to reflect this & governments urgently need to show far greater leadership

Thinking. Why would people want more human bodies, if we do not want their labor, innovation, or joy? The only parallel I can find is farming. Livestock are now 60% of mammal life on the planet, whereas humans are 36%. We want our farm animals stupid, docile, and plentiful. Are we to be farmed?

On Earth Day, don't throw away your old, disintegrating clothes. Use them for cleaning. I haven't bought anything new for 8-9 years. When my clothes start to fall apart, I use them for dusting, cleaning etc. Better than sending them to landfill.

There were no mobile phones or internet in those days. We called home every 2 weeks for 5 minutes. I was at law school & A was at medical school. We went from college town to college town meeting fellow students. It could have gone horribly wrong, of course, but it was brilliant.

I look out at the twilight from the top deck of the bus. In the distance, heavy, slate-grey clouds hang low in the sky, forming the illusion of a mountain range beyond the buildings. On the chemo ward, I met a man having his 100th chemo treatment. His cancer was incurable but he was on a global Harvard trial about how to better treat his cancer (I think it was a type of stomach cancer but can't remember for sure). This is what the Mango Moron wants to cut.

Many, many years ago (I was 19), I flew to America (NYC)with a friend. We had a flight out of LA 3 months later and literally no fixed plans after the 1st 2 nights. We travelled the country by bus and train, going wherever the whim took us. .It was fantastic. Looks like those days are gone.

One of my autistic sons has refused entry to his bedroom for proper cleaning for about 18 months. His sensory needs & need to control his environment due to other external factors out of control meant this was a REALLY BIG DEAL. Thankfully today he’s accepted the deal: mum deep cleans as BIOHAZARD.
