People don’t get addicted to antidepressants. That’s a ridiculous statement. You don’t feel any kind of “high”. They work to get people out of very bad place. Having suffered from depression, anxiety and PTSD

I have been on the lowest dose of sertraline for a little over 20 years. The one time I tried to stop, I was a mess within three weeks. Once back on it again, I was on an even keel and have been ever since.
Interesting, I had not heard of antidepressants for fibromyalgia, but it's good some doctors have done some research and are using it to help you. (I have some fibro on occasion, hormones.)
Cymbalta (duloxetine) is often used in people with fibro to mixed results. It doesn’t help too much with my pain, but it’s one of the few meds that actually touches my depression, so I’ve got that at least. I have alarms to remind me for my dose though because forgetting is ROUGH! 😩
Thanks for the information. Unlike MAGA, I like to learn new things and become more informed.
On a serious note, glad even if it's not helping with your fibro, am glad it touches your depression👍
Yup - tried to stop taking Lexapro a few times and slid into bad depressions and anxiety that made it hard to function. Some of us have actual brain chemistry - much of it from trauma - that REQUIRES that medication. Much like people with diabetes need insulin. He is anti-science & he’s dangerous.
Depression, ADHD and anxiety are all conditions that run in families. There’s four people in my class that have ADHD and anxiety. This is not a moral failing, it’s biology
I was in a car accident and it triggered childhood memories that became debilitating. The therapist I was seeing said that physical trauma can trigger emotional trauma. We grow up in families that aren’t nurturing and it was a journey to get to a better place
Correct! That does not mean “addiction” if it correcting brain chemistry in a chemical imbalance. I’m pretty sure I have not addressed the complexity, but it’s certainly not addiction if correcting an imbalance.
The failure of the mainstream public to realize that mental wellness medications are explicitly about providing the body a quantity of chemicals and enzymes it is lacking just speaks volumes of their ignorance and/or misappropriation of them in the first place.
I meant to mention the brain since it’s responsible for the regulation of these chemicals and enzymes but I wanted the statement to be as punchy yet neutrally worded as possible and I’d already hit/was close to my character limit lol.
I've heard people who are otherwise fairly grounded say things like, "Chemical imbalances in the brain are a myth." It's absolutely wild to me. Like you believe in modern medicine for all other purposes but when it comes to the brain, we're back to demons and ghosts?
It's a fundamentally unscientific idea. If you talk any of them down and corner them, they resort to, "Well, the brain has enormous power, and you can't shackle that with man's chemicals, murr murr murr"
My grandmother suffered severe mental trauma involving the death of one of her sons when she was pregnant with my mom, creating a SIGNIFICANT biological defect in her and subsequently ME. But THANKS TO MENTAL WELLNESS MEDICATION, both my mother and I have significantly diminished issues.
The fact that I can sit here and logically connect back through biological evidence based on actual factual events that happened in my genealogy or however I’d have to put it is something this fucking idiot would generalize as worthy of me being on a fucking prison camp
Rather than working the current position I do in supplying people with the food based services I work in is absolute fucking insanity and I still can’t believe someone who even entertained this idea was given the go ahead to run this county’s health services.
Sadly other Americans not in fortunate situations like myself will have to risk this potential outcome should this mentally deficient nutjob be allowed to go through with such bullshit, while I would just disappear and flee the country before anything could be done to me.
But hey, the worm in his brain is probably siphoning off the necessary ones he’s in need of and causing the problems, but god forbid he take an antibiotic or something else to help compensate for missing brain cells and matter. THAT’S DEVIL MAGIC!!!
Nothing to promote despite doing numbers but if gaming, both tabletop and video, are your cup of tea or if you wish to share in my thirsting of gay fictional demons, feel free to follow. I’m just here for funsies and the occasional mental vomiting I used to do on Xhitter before pres musk’s election
'people who are not naturally mentally well should be second class citizens'. thats it. they fundamentally believe disabled people should do all the hard work as punishment for being disabled
lest we not forget the nazis went around killing tons of disabled people. to eugenicists, those with disabilities are active detriments to society. (of course, its also that 'disability' is something assigned to you. stand up against the regime? well thats ADHD. concentration camp for you)
You're wrong on that. The VA messed up my prescriptions about two years ago. I'm on SSRI's, took me about 3 months to get them out of my system. I went through most of the same symptoms as when I quit alcohol. I'm medicated for PTSD, and anxiety. Back on them again, thankfully.
I went back on the exact same doses of the exact same meds. I just had to go without for roughly 4 months while they figured it out. It was exactly like quitting drinking. Nausea, diarrhea, tremors, and extreme irritability. Quitting tobacco and nicotine were so much easier.
I wish we got a high from it. I might feel like a normal person then LOL! I got persistent depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, ptsd, adhd, and autism. Without my medication, I'd likely be dead cause my mind was in a VERY bad place years ago.
I don’t know where you live but a lot of research around using LSD for these conditions. You do it with a therapist and often it will only take one session
Depression is most often a chemical imbalance and these drug re balance and allow people to live healthier lives. . He needs to STFU.He is a fucking busybody monster, addicted to steroids.
For me it was a lot of life changing experiences including the deaths of my sister and mother, an ex husband ruined my business and I lost my house and business. Antidepressants saved me
If addicting, they would not be prescribed. The reason you get them is because they have side effects that people do not like, such as sexual dysfunction and weight gain. The effectiveness of these 1st-line antidepressants is also marginal if not questionable except for the placebo effect.

What a fucking joke.

Are diabetics addicted to insulin?…
Thyroid patients addicted to their prescription hormones?…
Heart disease patients addicted to their statins?…
Capitalists addicted to their oil?…
Where does it end?… 🤔
