Musk’s team—Christopher Young, Nikhil Rajpal, and Gavin Kliger—is currently at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). This move comes just months after Musk posted “Delete CFPB” on his X social media platform.

What is this hellscape? Trump and the Republican Party is going to pay at midterms, this isn’t remotely favorable. And they’re doing it with enough time for the impact to be felt by his base. In the meantime, buckle the fuck up.
Cut the power to these buildings!! Cut the water off, put up jammers and wifi blockers, grid lock the building... There is so much our Officials COULD do but aren't because they are complicit and got paid to perform the outrage in these protests... Stopping congress with one security officer?? BS
From the start, the CFPB has done a great job protecting consumers. It has saved Americans much $ and returned much $ to them. Now, why does the traitor felon want to make us American consumers pay again? Why does he want to hurt American consumers in their pocketbooks? 😡
This small handful of people is so arrogant that they think they know and understand everything better than everyone else. Think they are better than people who have spent their entire careers working on certain things
Of course Elon Musk targeted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He doesn't want to be scrutinized for building a payment profit center integrated with Xitter.
Gavin Kliger is a far right-wing white supremacist and misogynist who amplifies content from the likes of Andrew Tate and Nick Fuentes, so you can only imagine what the others are like, and these are Musk's so called baby-faced assassins
The CFPB is now barred from conducting external communications and has paused key operations. Meanwhile, Musk’s staffers are accessing sensitive CFPB data, including procurement, human resources, and financial records.
They also want to increase the interest % on student loans and stop the CFPB from its current role in reducing credit card %. Notice how none of the financial institutions or credit card companies aren’t concerned about any of this. They love it.
CFPB also co-owns/runs the National Mortgage Database, which is an amalgamation of data on U.S. mortgages. So we can add our mortgage payment records to the stolen info dumpster fire now too. 🤬 PS… NMDB’s website especially notes their data security safeguards. https://www.fhfa.gov/programs/national-mortgage-database-program
Cheesy crisp on a stick!! Why the f*** is Elon allowed to do this?! How much money did Trump sell this country and its people for? How much of a kickback are Republicans getting? Why do I keep hearing the theme song of The Omen in my head?
@markwarner.bsky.social @kaine.senate.gov @mcclellan.house.gov imagine they will keep their raid on data all weekend as congress checks in on prices of Superbowl snacks.
WHY HAVE THEY NOT BEEN ARRESTED OR AT MINIMUM REMOVED? If this kind of shit is allowed to happen, then California (and any other state) should be able to secede because apparently laws and the Constitution don’t matter anymore.
Who is going to arrest them? It's a federal building. They are breaking federal law. The one responsible for arresting them sent them a letter thanking them and pledging federal resources to protect them.
Good chance I’m oversimplifying here, but is it possible to encrypt the data they prior to their arrival? That should make them go through the court system to gain access, slowing their progress
in case you didn’t know - CFPB is charged with overseeing the Federal financial laws to protect consumers—people who keep their money in banks and credit unions, pay for goods and services with their credit cards, and rely on loans to buy homes or pay for college, among other services.
All of America needs to stand with AltNPS and continue to call your Reps, Senators, and your State AG offices. And send out those emails too. We need a full defense on all sides. Don’t put your shovel down! #resist
I have no idea. If I was working there and Musk’s goons came to steal data, at least one would be least one would be leaving with a bloody nose. What they are doing is much worse than facing assault charges, losing my job, and probably getting roughed up.
I am also puzzled as to how DOGE has the authority to prevent/police the external communications from a government agency. Who is conducting enforcement?
I've only ever seen references to them calling the marshals on at least one occasion, and getting security "put on leave" for daring to do their jobs in another instance.
ProPublica "We are still reporting. Do you have information about any of the people listed above? Do you know of any other Musk associates who have entered the federal government? You can reach our tip line on Signal at 917-512-0201. Please be as specific, detailed and clear as you can."
People don’t realize how much consumer data CFPB has. It has required banks and other covered entities to turn over huge amounts of data. Hundreds of millions of records on consumer credit/debit card transactions, EFTs, loans, loan payments etc. Musk now has all of that. Who knows where it will go.
i'm European. this might be a stupid question. i understand that at the beginning people were taken by surprise but by now i really wonder: why are they not being stopped at the door? why do they even get access to the buildings?
i assumed there was some kind of open door policy that doesn't allow security to refuse anyone access unless there is a real threat (which - as i understand it - there is of course, but that might be a matter of opinion)
because i can understand why people wouldn't take the risk of trying to physically stop these people, that would be reckless.
it just seems strange to me that just anyone can barge in and take over computers.
Believe me, a lot of us are shocked by this as well. There was really nothing standing between saboteurs and the US Treasury except a couple of private security guards. No guns, no hardened checkpoints, no ID badges.
Because too many in this country still believe in democracy. They still think voting matters. They still think calling reps makes a difference. It never did.
This exactly my question. Are they physically overpowering security guards? Are security guards not calling the DC police? I’m sure if I tried to fight my way past security guards at a government agency the cops would be called
Didn't he start the treasury shit last Friday? Guy likes to do nefarious, illegal crap on the weekends and with the Super Bowl to distract everyone, no one will report or care. Great job, media!
Can I challenge the Pillsbury Dough nazi to a cage match? Let's go. Or are you scared, pussy boy? I would love to embarrass him on an international stage. Musk is a blowhard who was given everything he ever had. Answer me, spoiled little bitch.
djt knows that if he asked permission he'd be shut down. Does he really have power? Does the Executive Branch get to break in and steal data, fire workers without cause, strip workers of communication tools?
@whitehouse.senate.gov
@warren.senate.gov
@kaine.senate.gov
Musks "team" doesn't even have legal authority to come into these agencies and mess around. If they are forceably stopped, what are the consequences? Are they bringing weapons or agents with weapons with them??
it's actually a pretty funny tweet.
What is the appropriate number of duplicative regulatory agencies?
If they are duplicative, can we expect no drop-off in services provided?
There needs to be a broad all encompassing injunction on DOGE! They should not be allowed inside any Federal building or IT System! Make them go to court!!!
Isn't this all illegal?? I recently saw a post that claimed that DOGE was not approved by Congress as an official government agency and therefore cannot legally do anything that they have done or will do. Is this true??
This business of him illegally accessing information for a week before he is stopped needs to end. He already has what he wants by the time he is locked out. Arrest him and his little hackers for the laws they already broke for heavens sake.
It seems to me that they (trumpets) want to burn government to the ground. They are disenfranchised. This is exactly what they wanted to see as a place to direct their despair and anger. They don't understand the scope of the consequences.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has recovered more than $17 billion for consumers from fraudulent or predatory practices since it began in 2011.
I am so sick of him. How long is this going to last. He's like a child gleefully moving from candy store to candy store and filling his pockets. Except the candy store is our data and money.
Convert it into shelf-stable food, potable water, masks, emergency medical supplies, and other barter objects while the prices are still somewhat low. When an economy crashes, your money literally won't amount to a hill of beans
Thing is, if everyone loses faith in the banks etc and withdraws their money, the whole system crashes. Creating a panic that leads to people not wanting to be the ones unable to get their money is a great way to crash the entire economy. Hard call.
Gee whiz, Wall Street, what's THIS going to do to consumer sentiment. Hard to fathom why more people on the right who are invested in business as usual (fairly stable and predictable econmy) aren't raising alarms as well.
Of course Trump and fElon wan to delete the CFPB. they want to go back to loose lending and no rule loans like before the 2008 recession - it's free money. Horrible & irresponsible for the average person, especially first time homeowner needing a government loan.
Ultimately, this causes a housing crash. want trump wants. Low real estate prices. "It's just business" is what he said during the minutes of the 2016 first Presidential debate with Hilary Clinton. trump wants a crash. Go re-watch the video.
You're seeing it. It's a game. Literally zero emotion, empathy, conscience, accountability. Above the law. To watch him not be held accountable and stopped is mind-blowing. I can't tell if his supporters are trauma-bonded, have learned helplessness or suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. Baffling.
Yes. Shock. Like you said, the rabbit. I dont think they can help themselves, including Congress (even GOP). People really need to have a talk with themselves because this is Act II and we need to get better, fast. Get away from playing defense and begin playing offense.
Well that’s also why there’s not only an RTO, but he wants to sell off federal real estate, likely to lease it back at a premium. But that’s just a theory. A real estate theory.
Right? It's a weird dichotomy. We need we also need people to have jobs so they can afford to buy homes so destroying the economy to the point where people's lives are destroyed is illogical.
To be honest, I don't think Trump understands economics at all. I'm not certain he understands it will cause a crash, nor what that even means. He doesn't care either, because he will continue to stay rich and line his buddy's pockets.
WTF they just get more and more access!! When is this going to be slowed down and stopped? How is our government this easy to access across multiple layers?!?
Also this bureau is a revenue generator in addition to protecting ordinary citizens. I obviously love these guys. As some one who used to work for the most corrupt bank in America, these guys do the hard work.
Isn’t there a judge out there with enough authority to issue a “DOGE will not enter any federal facility until we figure out what the hell is going on“ order?
What Conservative conspiracy made them think it's okay to dismantle an agency whose literal job is to protect people from unscrupulous business practices? No need to explain why Musk wants it gone of course lol.
This is right out of the Heritage Foundation/Project 2025 playbook. And of course, like the foolish little bootlickers they are, plenty of people for whom the agency can and will protect cheer it on, because "own the libs", "tampon Tim" or whatever..
Soooo… it would seem every place fElon has targeted for wasteful spending was in some capacity investigated or had fined him for something… and linking these makes is a retaliatory vendetta scenario… and no one is going to a judge with this demanding a cease and desist order? I said what I said.
If any of you reporters see this… I’ve see at last 3 or 4 stories about fElons fights different departments…
Link that shit up. And see who’s investigating and/or fining him that he hasent hit yet… and you’ll have his next targets.
And If your department has done this. Bar the damn doors!!!
What would happen if every civil service employee just walked out?
Can Musk and co actually function without the support personnel?
For example, if all NWS staff including field staff just walked out the door, what would happen? Would it cause enough disruption to grind things to a halt?
Peter #Thiel is funding #Elon #Musk #Trump #Vance and 16 other republicans who said the #election was rigged. #followthemoney to the https://FoundersFund.com and don’t let this traitors name be forgotten. Peter #Thiel is a German Nazi who wrote “The Myth of Diversity”.
We can certainly seek to improve our policies & government agencies.
...just like asthmatics can seek to improve their lung function.
However, the treatment for asthma is not surgical excision of lung lobes. Even if it were, you would need a surgeon to do it, not the neighbor kid with a chain saw.
According to the latest data from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), they have recovered over $21 billion for consumers through enforcement actions, including monetary compensation, principal reductions, and canceled debts, resulting from their supervisory and enforcement.
This happened just after I submitted a complaint about Edfinancial who is dragging their feet getting me off SAVE so I can finish PSLF. Can’t even do a buyback. Lawyers gotta eat too, but I would love to see a list of firms willing to review and file class action lawsuits (1/2)
Against DOGE, Musk, the federal government, and against companies who would otherwise be held accountable by CFPB. Just bog these assholes down with lawsuits so that’s all they have time to deal with.
They also were instrumental in ending Apartheid in South Africa, something that greatly benefited his nepotistic rise to power--that is, his daddy's emerald mining racket.
Happily reading "Born a Crime" to understand more about the life in South Africa before, during and after Aparthate. Apartheid. Darn autocorrect...
Still wondering why all his 12 kids-moms are Canadian, though...
Hot damn! Time to fire up the Ponzi schemes and get those Nigerians to work. Thanks, Elon. This beats the hell out of the mobile abortion clinic I was going to use to supplement my retirement after they legalized weed.
Now, why would Elon want to get rid of the Consumer Financial Protection bureau after all of our sensitive personal and financial data has been breached?
WE CANNOT NORMALIZE THIS. 'We, the People' must call our reps (use 5 Calls), demand a full forensic investigation, REVOKE the EO empowering Musk/D.O.G.E., bring Articles of Impeachment.
Someone ask Musk if he considered this to be savings (taxes don’t pay for the CFPB) or subtracts from his savings, since CFPB gets money back to the public.
This should be the biggest wake up call for conservative voters! WHY would you get rid of a CONSUMER protection board!? That’s sole job is to protect Americas AGAINST corporations!? JFC.
ProPublica "We are still reporting. Do you have information about any of the people listed above? Do you know of any other Musk associates who have entered the federal government? You can reach our tip line on Signal at 917-512-0201. Please be as specific, detailed and clear as you can."
I fucking hate these assholes. I sometimes like to imagine I have the powers of a god... and that I can just pop their empty little heads like the zits that they are. I like going to that place a lot these days...
I don’t understand why someone hasn’t done this. Where’s Anonymous? Where’s Antifa? Where are all the Luigis in this country?? If I wasn’t disabled and on the other side of the country…😤😤😤
democrats went after anonymous, they sat back as cops violated antifa rights...... i remember when occupy wall street was bad because they were a slight inconvenience to liberals.
You know what…short, confidently written, with a period at the end…I find this to be a comforting message. I’m going to continue my white girl karen activism as best I can, and have faith. Ty. Even if it’s placebo, it helped.
That's what my spouse keeps saying. He grew up with privelege and has the delusions of a cis caucasion man. I did not, am not and do not. We're in for a huge storm. Faith is a great concept, but very overrated. Not helping this current reality. Many are in shock or denial, but need to wake up!
All excellent questions. Unfortunately, we may never get those answers and time is not on our side. The solutions will be on us and it starts with punching these traitors, physically or metaphorically, and standing our ground. Also need new Democratic leadership that won't play ball with them.
I marched on Wednesday and I’ve been writing to my elected officials. I don’t know what else to do. It’s not enough. They’ve turned a lifelong pacifist into someone who’s looking into getting brass knuckles.
We all have to ask ourselves and everyone we know: who does this benefit? Who benefits from going after CFPB, OSHA, FDIC, Dept of Ed, US Treasury? Not Americans. Not workers. Only billionaires.

This week has made it sound like some of our most critical federal government systems have basically no security.
It will be like that scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

What was CFPB investigating Musk for that we didn't know about yet?
We don’t need a singular hero, we need a goddamn revolution.
What is the appropriate number of duplicative regulatory agencies?
If they are duplicative, can we expect no drop-off in services provided?
Honestly I can relate but this is bonkers.
Musk is not going to save us $2T going after a $800M agency. He is the fraud.
Link that shit up. And see who’s investigating and/or fining him that he hasent hit yet… and you’ll have his next targets.

To say I loathe this human is an understatement.
Service members, students, everyday folks,
The CFPB shields them from financial hoaxes.
$21 billion back to you and me.
No wonder Musk wants it RIP.
Still wondering why all his 12 kids-moms are Canadian, though...
I wish that was a joke.
doooge in!
