Many of the resigning staffers had previously held senior roles at major tech companies such as Google and Amazon before joining the government out of a deep commitment to public service.

Officially, it is the United States DOGE Service which is separate from DOGE. This post confused me briefly and the implications of people leaving are very different for the two organizations.
I was in an argument about this, Trump did not just rename USDS, he completely changed what he people there do. Previously, it was web design, analysis, and recommendations to leadership. Now, who knows but looks like stealing data, firing, not paying bills, telling others what to do.
