The U.S. government spent $710 billion in Trump’s first month, an increase from the same period a year prior. Cost-cutting efforts are ineffective, and job losses are occurring without clear justification.

Thanks for this, I saw that too, was wondering if there was a more detailed breakdown, maybe there's a link in article I missed. Was wondering if DOGE spending was included, President protection expenses etc.
"...the I.R.S. may struggle even more with its basic mission of collecting taxes. Work-intensive investigations into large businesses and rich Americans could decline, a drop in enforcement that would add to the deficit even as Elon Musk says his team is helping narrow it."
Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s Doge is expending over $9 million a week, with more than 50 staffers—many earning six-figure salaries—adding even more expenses on top of the $9 million weekly cost.
Sounds like a con job! We will save you money by firing most of your employees!! It will cost you 9 million a week plus expensive!!! When we are done this this scam you will have trouble getting your work done efficiently! Musk is the biggest con man in history! All he had to do was buy Trump!
We better recover all of it from TESLA, SPACEX and whatever other assets he owns. He goes to prison and goes broke, in whichever order is best. #RudyGiuliani the hell out of these evil buggers.
In the shadow of towering wealth, the reactionaries weave their tales of false promises and hollow victories. They speak of cutting costs, of trimming the fat, but their knives always seem to slice through the wrong flesh.
In the United States, under Trump’s reign, $710 billion vanished into the ether of mismanagement, while jobs evaporated like morning dew under a scorching sun. And yet, the architects of this chaos remain untouched, their hands clean, their pockets heavy.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk, the modern-day Midas, spends $9 million a week on a digital fantasy—a cryptocurrency meme turned corporate playground. Fifty staffers, many earning six figures, toil away in service of a vision that, while dazzling, feels worlds apart from the struggles of everyday people.
This is not unique to the United States. In Argentina, Javier Milei, the self-proclaimed libertarian savior, dances to the same tune. He preaches austerity for the masses while cozying up to the elites, promising a free market utopia that only ever seems to benefit the already privileged.
I can think of some fraud waste and abuse to bring to the government's attention... Lol. I know the worker bees know exactly where the fraud waste and abuse is, now to get the people that can do something about it to recognize the fraud waste and abuse
Never believe what they tell you about cutting costs. It’s a smoke screen to conceal their efforts to undermine our government within. It’s never been about saving money.
If they were serious about finding waste, fraud & abuse instead of twenty something tech weenies they would have brought in auditors & NOT have fired the Inspector Generals!
Housing. 83% of doge staff does not own property or living spaces and are staying in hotels.
2 guesses of the name of those hotels on the expenditures list.
They're spending $25,000 to install a washer and dryer in the OMB's offices for one worker who is living there with their family.Don't ask my why they need $25K. We all know about apartment washer/dryers that you can hook up to a sink.
If you mean Musk, I can understand the impulse but violence isn't going to get you what you want. One punched Dogebag and all of a sudden they will have license to escalate.
In any other city the housing / zoning authorities would be able to evict the "squatters" from buildings not zoned for residential occupancy. Not sure that applies in DC.
They've been posting a "wall of receipts" on X, which is just existing Inspector General reports run through Ai to appear like the work of DOGE. This is the richest man in the world we're talking about. There's nothing he can't afford. Tools of deception are a drop in the bucket.
CONGRESS IN RECESS NEXT WK 3/15 TO 3/23 - DEMAND IN-PERSON TOWNHALLS!
CALL SEN. FETTERMAN, SEN. MCCORMICK & demand in-person townhalls during the upcoming recess.
Sen. Fetterman - D.C. office 202-224-4254, Phila office 215-241-1090
Sen. McCormick – D.C. office 202-224-6324, Phila office 215-405-9660
Yeah, & how much of that has been Velveteen Voldemort going golfing? Attending the Superbowl? The Maybelline Monster going skiing in VT? People are losing their jobs, so these two treasonous assholes can go on vacation…& it hasn’t even been two months yet!!! 😒
In the final analysis, Trump is not the problem. He is the symptom. The problem is the 77 million Americans who were so stupid that they believed his lies and the right-wing talking points. Until we solve this problem we will keep getting politicians worse than the last.
There will never be any clear justification because none exists. Just hateful and vindictive. It’s everyone’s loss whether they recognize that or not. 🖤
On a brighter note, the Labour government( democrats for you guys) just got another landslide victory here in western Australia and have premised to plant an additional 1 million trees in the city...a little under 1 per 3 people..call us the tree amigos! Also giving more solar subsidies. 😁
With that mindset, building concentration camps was also “strong” spending
It’s not always good to be strong, in fact lots of bad men were considered strong
How much if that went to musk and his minions I would love to know-also how many in Congress are getting wealthier off of insider trading in this crazy market
So bludgeoning cuts to the government workforce - embarrassingly bad that Trump had to beg previously let go employees to come back, and numerous lies from the DOGI leader about saving money - and they’ve spent MORE than the previous administration?
It was never about saving money. The only goal is to oust career civil servants and replace them with people who are willing to "just follow orders" when the holocaust starts.
There’s an expression I learned from the Motion Picture industry that those criticizing the Federal Government should learn.
“Stop trying to save money! It costs too much!”
Of course it is. Greed is never satisfied. At some point everything is risked to obtain a bit more. When that happens greed starts to consume its creator. OTP vp
At the end we're going to find out that their "cost-cutting" efforts will be costlier than what they cut. Imagine moving all the SBA offices to different cities!
Gotta spend it by awarding more contracts to Musk, even though he never properly submitted a proposal against other companies trying to get the same contracts…you know…like the law says!
I had to put a bid out for one that could only have 1 bidder.
It took me 9 months to get it processed and approved because it had to "Remain available for bid" for like 60 days or something like that.
Why can't there being a hearing under oath with targeted questions fired at truhmp and musc regarding all their false statements and the clear numbers of our system imploding?? I don't understand why there isn't accountability or consequences for them!
It’s going to get even worse because a lot of work that’d normally get done has been put off due to feds having to deal with DOGE requests. The end result will be lots of waste of taxpayer dollars.
Trumpcession in full force and is confounded by his continued use of public funds for golfing and publicity stunts, cabinet secretary trips for “vacations”, DOGE hotelling — all while veterans, farmers, and the general public are being completely abandoned.
I'm beginning to believe the folks who say he is deliberately doing these stupid things just to get people riled up and protesting in large numbers. And if violent all the better
Then he'll have the excuse to declare martial law, suspend the constitution and use the military to carry out his wishes
Certainly one way to get his third and eternal term without need of rigging another election
Better watch out. The easier he percieves things are going. The less he'll feel the need for others
I'd laugh out loud if he were to eventually throw Muskie under the bus. Deport. Seize assests
Because Russia offered him that. If he gave them Intel on Ukraine, they would help him conquer Canada. I would bet $500 on this. I would bet every donut that I could have for the rest of my life.
It's also a form of taxation without representation. We as citizens agreed through voting to allocate tax funds to agencies. Trump taxes are collecting like crazy. Where is it all going if the ppl & jobs are cut? And Republican politicians are avoiding voters.
As per usual, Trump inherited a solid economy and then did everything in his power to mess it up. Now we’re talking recession. I thought grocery prices were gonna be lower. Silly me.
DEMAND to know why Trump isn't saving Trillions of dollars by addressing tax cuts that disproportionately benefit the rich, and instead is cutting funding programs like social security, MEDICAID and Medicare that help millions of people!!
IMO shenanigans! With all the cxl contracts & unpaid obligations what was that $710 billion spent on? Where did the money go? Where & to Whom are these billions being funneled to?
First, keep up your excellent work. You are a true citizen.
Second, we need to keep pounding the FACT that national parks provide glorious benefits while MAKING MONEY FOR THE FEDS.
Third... I'm out of ideas.

They added a washer and dryer to an office building too…
Need to have that dedication theater 🎭😡😡

There is none.
MAGA says they’re cutting fraud and abuse. Instead, they are reappropriating money into their own interests and pockets.
Really, this is so bad, and you should really know that it is bad

There's even a way to appeal in case it wasn't your fault and you can't pay it back.
I know a lot of things I worry about are how they can potentially abuse laws/statutes, whether they do or not. Certainly this is one way to do so.
I think in this case, they stated they won't pursue repayment while it's under appeal, so that may work in their favor.
I am willing to bet some one pulls this out sometime soon.
