I seem to be in a minority who doesn't think Carney was that great on Stewart. But I think many of us are desperate for a conventional political leader with a good resumé who projects some common courtesy. He did come across that way.

Compare him to any fed party leader and any premier. No contest. This guy is smarter and more accomplished than any of them. Not a lightweight. Not a prick. And no baggage. And from the west.
Which means he’ll have a more measured approach to the energy industry. He’s a climate change guy, but he’s also an economy guy. Gotta find the balance.
Also, the hands, the hands are tiny. I don’t know what it is. The neck posture ? Stand up Mark, open them fingers, let the juices run. Chin down. I dunno. lol. Grow a beard ? Anyways, I’d leave my fortune with him. That counts. That’s the message. “Who do you trust with your pension plan ?” .
I’d work for him. My best and most competent bosses have been from the back room, not too loud, efficient, forgiving, strategic, predictable, painless.
It may be that against the ridiculous tam tam thumping of po po and Trump, it is exactly what the dr wanted. A soothing boring dude that will get us to turn the tv again and whistle as we make our way to work. Who knows.
He's not exciting but I could bring myself to leave the house and vote for him, which is more than I could say for any of the options prior to Trudeau stepping down.
He is likeable and my leading choice currently but I don’t think it was a slam dunk. I hope with some time in a campaign or in the role he’d get even more comfortable. Trudeau is quick and can navigate an interview well. 1/
2/Carney will need to do this too. His qualifications and skills won’t be enough up against the Con’s lack of decorum in every situation especially with the onslaught of lies and hate coming his way. I do think he has the best chance of winning an election right now.
I didn’t think he was anything special on there, a bit of an underwhelming interview overall, but he presented himself as both likeable and capable. A mix that is somehow rare nowadays at the top of politics.
I will vote for any serious person obviously dedicated to the well-being of all Canadians. I therefore exclude those flirting with facile leftist recipes, or those sucking up to the rich or any oligarch-in-progress.
I’d say it was “surprisingly good”. I didn’t expect him to have much of a personality and imagine my surprise when I found out he did. Also, Stewart did a poor job and Carney wasn’t phased which earned him some points by default.
He's very sharp, honestly. I think the Daily Show was a mistake. These celebs like Jon Stewart and Jimmy Kimmel hurt the Harris campaign much more than they helped.
As a music producer who mainly works behind the scenes, I get things done and I hate how people with much less skills and competence are famous because they can go viral with something dumb on TikTok
It’s like competence isn’t a thing anymore
The thing he needs to master is being constantly interrupted, heckled & cut off b/c we all know PP is going to try to get under his skin, annoy and rattle him in the most childish way. Hope Carney practices debating while someone does that + in French, rewatch himself, and again until he is unfazed.

He's also the least vulnerable to Trudeau's unpopularity.
The NDP is dead in my riding, Carney It's the only Liberal candidate generating Buzz.
He is my solid preference, too.
Mostly prefer quiet, competent people doing the job instead of someone who always needs to be up in the camera
