Just a hint, the custard is actually cooked as per the recipe, but the temperature needs to be at least 158F/70C to make sure the egg is fully cooked. Just made some with a Canadian Living recipe - same ingredients, different method. Splurged and used 70% dark chocolate. Yummy. TY for sharing!

I’ve had the same recipe for 50+ years. I can’t find semi sweet squares so I’m debating whether to sweeten some myself or use semi sweet chips. The Costco semi sweet chips are dark chocolate & not as sweet as Hershey’s.
