A small percentage of you following this advice will eventually get into some kind of dispute on your canonical identity. Being able to set TXT on your DNS with a decade of ownership is pretty much the highest attestation. Hackers and imposters are not doing this shit long game.

If you are non-Irish but living in Ireland, you can purchase a .ie. You just need to show proof that you are here (bank statements, electric bill, etc)

Irish citizens just need either their passport, drivers licence or birth certificate.

I believe Bluesky wants you to purchase a domain directly from Namecheap through them. I don't know if they have some kind of affiliate program or a deal with Namecheap, but last I read it's literally their only source of outside revenue.
