This is a naming issue. “Has he died yet” is always correct assuming you catch it in time, “has he died today” is a recipe for failure, you’ll either post early and be wrong, or late and correct
You know what, actually, I take it back. It's unfair of me. How many times have you waited and waited fro something so hard, then whiffed it? It's human nature, lets be generous. He'll get him next time.
That can have issues as well. What happens when schedules are expressed in local time, but then daylight savings comes in, or the locality's rules for daylight savings changes?
It seems the only way is to use times that include an UTC offset, and also be aware of the timezone the locality is in.
