I think Twitter in particular had a magical moment in time that we should be grateful for, but can never recapture. From around 2011 - 2019, it was a flawed but mostly beautiful global village underpinned by genuine curiosity. Then all changed, changed utterly: the world, the internet, us.

Smaller curated communities "owned / controlled" by you where you are not trying to "game any algorithm" to get noticed.
