Capitalism offers temporary progress at the cost of exploitation, future stagnation, and inevitable oligarchy.
Democracy cannot and has not survived the feudalistic/hegemonic culture required by capitalism.
So long as it remains possible for individuals or private interest groups to amass limitless wealth and power, oligarchy remains inevitable. The rich get richer, lobby and infiltrate the government, profit, and repeat.
That says quite a bit when other people in the field are diplomatically saying "let's hold off for some replication."
