Same. I’ve tried it but I really struggled to get invested with mage Hawke as I couldn’t make the narrative fit.

And that’s coming from someone who usually can just roll with the story for most things.

But I’m glad so many like playing as mages even if I don’t.

I really enjoy the abilities, the armor, and approaching Kirkwall’s problems from the perspective of a non-mage.

Slashing like a scythe through mobs with an absurdly large blade really leans into that game’s exaggerated aesthetics in a way I appreciate.

Rogue, definitely rogue. It was thanks to DA2 that I discovered my love for this class. Except for DAO (too squishy), I played as a rogue in DA2, in every DAI playthrough and DAV. Will try the mage soon though.

More than in any other game I feel like you have to be a mage here. They might have cut that blood mage storyline because time constraints, but this class still offers the most intense connection to what's going on. It's not even close.
