Add to this the mentality that you can do whatever you want during the week and when you go to church on Sunday and take Communion, all your sins are magically forgiven. You never have to change your attitudes, opinions, or behaviors.
if a person says they are christian they are christian. if they also hate and despise most human beings, that's their prerogative.
perhaps it's on the rest of us to change what comes to mind when we hear the word "christian"
There is a U in Jesus, but it's all about Jes'US! Jesus Fed Thousands with 'US' and not the ME, Sharing What We Have With 'That Guy On the Street!' Not the Begging Billionaire Who Made Him Homeless on 'Zero Contract'. "Thank you for your Service," empty words like "Have a Good Day." Where's my tip?
Not being an evangelical Christian I confess to have been unaware this was how they viewed their faith. I imagine there are those who don’t think like this but for those who do it explains how the teachings of Christ can be twisted and perverted by those who have an unchristian agenda.
Remember that Calvinism (the ideas behind the Evangelical Church that either you are "elect" or not and can't change it) was promoted and spread by nobles and the upper class. It was never a denomination meant for the "little people".
They are the most selfish arrogant people ever. If I believed there was a God who was master of the universe I would be ashamed to ask him to support my high school football team
