I'll hold out for Skyblivion, at least i know that one will already have the bugs modded out. And its free. Instead of having to buy a game I already own, again.
I hope this remake/remaster does not disappoint. And also i hope we could be able to sit on the duke of mania throne unlike the original! Or maybe the robe set as well!
They are. In fact I think it's coming out this year. I think Bethesda trying to detract from the hype for it.
Especially since I don't trust that they will do a true oblivion "remake". More likely a rerelease. A complete remake would take years to make.
Yeah, I love Oblivion. My fave ES game. Spent thousands of hours modding it.
Prob gonna wait for Skyblivion.
I hate that Bethesda is shitting on the little guys again.
I will also say that if they were going to bother to pour in the money and time to properly remake an elder scrolls game in the modern style.
I mean... Daggerfall is RIGHT THERE man. So is Morrowind.
People have been begging for a Morrowind remake for ages. Thats another reason i think this is bs.
Theres also Redguard and Battlespire. Which are two games with way more straightforward confined storytelling. If they were going to do a full remake just to keep the ip relevant then one of those would probably have been better options.
Okay but where the fuck is ES6 even going to be set? I know it's not coming out until Todd and I are skeletons, but I'd love to at least imagine what the kids in 3005 are gonna get to play.
Taste is subjective, fella. Starfield is a masterpiece. I'm not exactly sure what people thought it would be but I have nothing but good to say about it. It would be nice if they stopped recycling Elder Scrolls titles though and gave us a new one
Uhh I’m sure it would be…? But even for a corporation they have to know that they’d have absolutely 0 respect from the gaming and modding communities, who would likely (probably successfully) organize against them… and they’d be insane to think otherwise if they went down that road
Oblivion was one of those special game moments, like the first time playing Mario 64. The open world, physics, and sense of freedom were unparalleled. If they can give this the Demon Souls remake treatment it would be great. But if they just slap some paint on it, that will be tragic.
I see a lot of negativity on the comments, so let me also offer this possibility. Bethesda may have used some of the tech upgrades developed for TES6 to create this Oblivion remake. That would actually be a good use of time and resources, allowing the devs to experiment with a known entity.
The age of remakes making it so we’re not getting actual original new games as part of so many franchises completely sucks, hope this flops tremendously. Oblivion was already great.
Oblivion was incredibly innovative in its time, but the way most of its ideas were implemented sucks ass in hindsight. The idea of a remake that completely redesigns the dated (or just poorly conceived) gameplay elements is cool, but I suspect Bethesda will opt to just rerelease it with new graphics
I understand nostalgia, but do we rlly need this? Move on Bethesda, take a leaf out Larian Studios' book. Stop rushing with junk & put time & effort into some quality. Skyrim was a frontier game, challenging the industry & setting standards & now it still costs a fortune nearly 15 yrs later. #greedy

I'll wait for the official announcement if this even is a thing, which it's not.
They’ve gotta make up the lost revenue they ended up with after Starfield: Menu Simulator.

Fuck Bethesda. Their space game sucked ass and I trust nothing from them anymore.
I used to take a day off work for an Elder Scrolls launch. Now I won't buy anything from them until it's on deep discount, and probably not even then.
Bethesda's attitude towards negative feedback on Starfield was abhorrent though. Not a good look. And not a good way to treat paying customers.
No New Vegas, no Morrowind?
