I'm quite literally, in tech. I check my email in the morning, at lunch, and EOD. It's digital interoffice mail. By definition, non urgent. 🤷‍♀️

I work in tech. I almost never check email. All important internal communication come on slack. On the rare occasions I do check email it’s either because I’m dealing with an external party of I got a communication on slack telling me to check my email.

The issue is availability, which in a collaborative office job means answering one's phone, responding to texts, being on chat or checking one's email. In the jobs you mentioned the equivalent would be being on break all day. It's crazy the kudos I get just promptly replying to work e-mail.

I'm a programmer and I have several folders that I auto-sort actually import emails into (like process failures for example) most of the rest I just delete without looking if they aren't from a name I know or auto-sort into the delete bin lol
