I want to say I remember them being introduced, but I was likely babysitting the kids who had them.

My brother had GI Joe (dismembered and thrown down a toilet as an "experiment") and green army men (enormous base in backyard). I certainly had my Barbies, specifically Malibu Beach Barbie.

My sister had Barbies- I made the command decision early on for Polly Pockets with my girl- never regretted it. Smaller- cheaper- less body weirdness....

And my girl turned out perfect! (Close enough for me!!!)

I feel like Holly Hobby was of the 70s (I had a soft doll that's probably in my parents garage) - and Strawberry was the psychedelic early 80s. Because right after came RAINBOW BRITE.

I had a bunch of Strawberry Shortcake dolls, sheets, etc.

And Rainbow Brite herself and Starlight. 🌈

I just went down the Wikipedia rabbit hole. Close! Holly was born 1968, and Strawberry in 1972. Both women illustrator, both freelance, both working for American Greeting Card Co.
