It isn’t supposed to cost anything if you’re accessing your own file. The most they can charge you is if they require that you review your physical file & that you have to pay for a copy of it (thus why they have the note about explaining why it would cost more than the standard $.05/page cost.)

If there's not already some sort of file for you, one will be opened for you. But, consider that you already have at least 2 files, with the SSA and IRS that may have been accessed by DOGE, either as part of a process or viewed manually, by a person. You may get info about this, and... 1/2
