Geese are pretty fierce 🇨🇦. Americans have no idea what it’s like to get up off your chesterfield, get your toque on, get your double double, leave your igloo in -50C only to have mother goose come at ya with a 6ft wingspan like Crosby on a clean break. All the while trying to start your snowmobile.
I work in a cemetery office. Our grounds have a wonderful pond in the center that is home to Cobra Chickens among other water birds. My predecessor told me he had been bitten by these birds. Thankfully, the birds are getting used to humans being in "their" home.
Avian flu has caused a shortage in the USA: Chicken eggs are scarce and expensive. The United States has now made enquiries in Europe - despite tariffs and diplomatic tensions. However, major exports are considered unlikely.
For the record we have a lot of Canadian Bald Eagles. We were the home of the first Eagle cam. Hornby Eagles on Hornby Island in the Salish Sea east of Vancouver Island, which also has hundreds of Eagles.

Canada geese are like swans—loved and romanticized, but mean as snakes and will kill your dog. And let's not forget that Mango Mussolini was attacked by a bald eagle.
There is a reason why we call them Cobra Chickens. Personally I want to see Trump, Vance and Musk take them on. I was there the year they claimed Sask as their own you took your life into your own hands going into their land.

Also the Canada Goose was sick. Still stood his ground. Still fought like hell. Still kept the eagle at bay. All the while in a weakened state. Even more symbolic. #elbowsup 🇨🇦🖤
It said below the photo that the goose likely had avian flu and many of the eagles have been dying from it through contact with them. It’s more likely we will be super spreaders though with RFK jr as our head of health.

I wish you were correct but there is no evidence of widespread election fraud in 2024. I knocked doors in a swing state and ran into quite a few people who were proud to vote for Trump.

I still don't understand a) why the goose was out on the ice like that, alone (possibly an elder, sick, or dying) when geese flocks are huge and geese don't usually just hang out alone... and b) what the heck is a bald eagle doing in Burlington, Ontario... and why the eagle gave up. Questions!
I’ve been clobbered by geese while handing out frozen peas. Healthier than bread for them. Probably still get in trouble from fish n game types. But they might be happier i got clobbered
The Canadian goose will do anything to protect its mate and family. They are fearless, selfless and very delicious. As a Canadian its only fair if i shoot and eat American bald eagles 🦅. I’m sure they would make great double fried wings with bbq sauce.
We have a battle tradition here, where we consume the most aggressive Goose before moving into battle. We tap into our "bad feelings" by eating the Goose.
