Hello BlueSky. As a public service, given how many, many things have been forgotten, this account will attempt to remind everyone of the daily madness that was 2020.

Let's see...the Dems in my state have undone quite a bit of the damage Republicans had done to it, we have a sane federal gov't (w/the exception of the GOP House and SCOTUS), and no one has suggested injecting bleach into our lungs. Oh, and my student loans were forgiven. So hell, yes.
I said "sane," not "moral." The Biden administration at least mostly deals in facts. Also: we can protest this administration. If Trump slimes his way back in, the plan is to arrest anyone who tries. I've called my rep and Senators about this, too, but HELL YES I'm voting Biden over fascism.
For me, it was hearing the ambulances running 24/7. They had a substation nearby. At one point, the city had to announce there were no ambulances available for a 2-3 hour period. None available for wrecks, heart attacks, strokes, much less covid. Just none.
four years ago I was bug-eyed hollering and pleading at my now-ex-wife not to go straight back to her hospital job after being at a large conference, and a couple days from talking myself into a job doing covid disaster news for a local outlet that would last a year and a half
At least in Florida we don’t have the element of surprise. If there’s a way to do something badly, our government will work very, very hard to make it worse. Note that we are one of a few states that didn’t expand Medicaid as part of the ACA. In our case it’s out of sheer spite.
The legend has it that saint Patrick has driven the snakes from Ireland into the sea. The US would need someone like this to drive republicans and other idiots into some shark infested waters. The voting doesn't do it anymore, the quantity of idiots is well about the critical mass.
This reminds me of guy who claimed to drive all the elephants out of Antarctica. Someone said “but there are no elephants in Antarctica!” and the guy replied “see how well it works?”
Yes, some "nice" new Covid variant is still possible. Or someone will eat some badly cooked bats or something and another altogether different pandemic starts.
My friend, Frank, a resident at the nursing home where I volunteered, and I enjoyed the auto show four years ago. A week later, his home was shut down to all visitors. He hung tight for two years before passing away. Dammit.
@alyssaharad.bsky.social I’ve only just seen this account, and wanted to make sure you had too!
(To the account operator, thank you so much. I was severely ill (with a different disease) at the time and didn’t see any of this the first time around. Amazing to see it day by day, thank you!)
One could also refer back to the Instagram account American Carnage, which did this for all 4 years of his term, but it's important this gets traction now.

ow
Moving somewhere better would be great, but having the money to do it is another thing altogether.
Time to drive the elephants out.

Seeing Covid happen again is gonna be something 😐
