What was the book that got you into fantasy?
I don’t remember which of these came first for me, but:
Magician: Apprentice by Raymond E Feist
The Harper Hall Trilogy by Anne McCaffrey
Eragon by Christopher Paolini

My second book was Lord Of The Rings. A thick book containing all 3 books.
My dad kept knocking on my bedroom door telling me to go to sleep.
😬
I read those (that) books in the early 80’s
Then proceeded to read, King, Asimov, Heinlein(sp?), Le Carre, Donaldson…
Then I just stopped reading altogether.
I tried reading, King, Mr. Mercedes recently. And that was so disturbing that I just stopped.
The books I was reading before that was Alan Dean Foster. Pip and Flinx as I was not, and probably still not in the mindset of reading anything complex.
That was followed by 2 completely garbage books.
I don’t know what I want.
Give me 1 book. Fiction.
All Systems Red by Martha Wells
Sci-fi novella, a little dark, fantastic main character, some mystery. And short 😊

It’s also why the morpho butterfly is my favorite. It’s so pretty!!
Imbued in insatiable thirst for imagination
Then in high school it was Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin (much to my eternal suffering 😭) and Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind.
I also loved the Patricia Wrede Dragon series.
No, not the His Dark Materials trilogy.
Just Northern Lights.
I was too young and eepy for the next two books 🥲
Percy Jackson.
The Ruby in the Smoke by Phillip Pullman
And honestly, just moving into a different genre from books like Hunger Games and Mortal Instruments. I was the biggest dystopian girlie when I was young.
