I enjoy the antics of those magic nuns on Dune, the Betty Gesundheits or what have you. When they do the bullfrog voice and make a guy stab himself? Great stuff! Fun buncha gals. Knock ‘em dead ladies.

Why am I the jerk who will tattoo “I must not fear, fear is the mind killer” on his body, but cannot get past the first two chapters without falling asleep time after time. Am I a hypocrite?
i love the david lynch version because it's so david lynch. i had to watch it 3-4 times before finally understanding it though. the aesthetic is awesomely bizarre and the fx hold up because much of it is practical and just weird sometimes.
Yeah… I used to catch bits of it on commercial cable, back in the day. I never saw it beginning to end until I bought it on VHS. It even came with a little booklet that defined/translated some of the phrases. It was great.
: )
Oh those crazy Betty Gesundheits, constantly trying to engineer the Quick Snack Had A Rack, always administering the Jem'Hadar test with that wacky box.
You are exactly why Trump wins. He celebrates all that vile and emulates it to bait all of you to vote for him. You folks love chaos and violence. You validate lawlessness. Democracy is lost to the imbecile population Trump created.
That portrayal was a little off.
In reality, the Voice is a high-pitched scream.
I know because my sister's 18-month-old was climbing a stool and she screamed "STOP!" in such a way THAT I PEED MY PANTS.
Reminds me of the religious education lessons I was forced to attend at the local convent in my early teens.
Ask questions?
Smack.
The steel ruler never missed. We were never issued shields.
Gom Jabbar as an aid to understanding?

Muscle memory.
Repetition & pain.
The underpinnings of reaction & action I drilled in for two decades.
The nuns dulled my belief, the instructors honed my sharp edges.
Looking back, I was forged into something quite dangerous.
I did not cut myself.
Most of my friends did.
Gone now.
Never forgotten.
Early 1970s onwards.
I still feel we had the best music.
Everything else, dull & flat.
Looking back I do not miss those brown & over patterned times.
Still not sure where the last few decades went, as it's recent & relevant still, to me.
Just so you know, the Betty Gesundheits just made me LOL IRL, on the subway. Now people are looking at me weird. Now it's awkward.
I did not expect to be bursting out laughing. Not fair, man!
What is fun about them, is that with 5000 years of experience in attempting to control human societies, they never understand that their efforts are futile. They just keep telling themselves how important their mission is and so how important they are. Lots of folks share this delusion.
I realize this may lose me points, but: they were the only part of that book I enjoyed. Them, and the planet's ecosystem. (I have a hard time with "chosen one" narratives)
Hidden in House Bill 9494 is the ability of government to take funding from nonprofits. Let your Representativ know to vote NO on Bill 9494. House # 202-224-3121
I believe you’re referring to the Bonny Jesuits. They picked up their otherworldly skills from working the counter at Waffle House. The employee manual says to assume that every customer has come directly from a meth house and/or frat party.
If you love these hijinks, you’re sure to get a kick out of their wacky counterparts the Honored Watters, just some fun BDSM with friends in 80’s gymwear
All the money/technical sound effects we have now... And the best this series or even the Dune movies could do is: "Talk like Christian Bale in Batman" That will be your witching voice.
<>😑
I doubt the TV show will do them justice, the movie certainly didn't: "The Bene Gesserit are an exclusive sisterhood whose members train their bodies and minds through years of physical and mental conditioning to obtain superhuman powers and abilities that seem magical to outsiders "
