as a man I seldom feel threatened by women, finding a woman in the bathroom is not a concern for me.
UC Boulder has men's rooms that are now same-sex, where the men use urinals and women the stalls. I felt like a flasher.

Gender neutral bathrooms in one of the terminals at SeaTac = great. Floor to ceiling doors on the stalls. Communal area of sinks.
There is also a brew pub in Vancouver with the same. Even with alcohol involved, not a problem.
