As a frequent victim of wildland brush fires in Northern California (Lake County) I can tell that the usual cause is power line related or adjacent.
Up here, PGE neglected maintenance for decades. Now we are being charged some of the highest rates in the country to "fix" the problem.

Meanwhile PGE actively lobbies against the residential transition to solar power any chance they can get.
While once being solar friendly, they are now antagonistic.
I know SCE charges very high rates. I wonder if this is a maintenance issue as well.

We must keep an open mind. The fire could have been started deliberately, and made to LOOK like it was caused by the transmission tower. Sometimes people don't like tranmission towers near their homes & will do stupid things to get rid of them.

These transmission towers aren't new and most of the residents have been there for decades. Californians are not going to start fires where their homes are, *especially* during Santa Ana winds. We know what happens.
