I started with Pandora 10 years ago shortly after they acquired the Music Genome Project. The stations I seeded turned up really good recommendations and still do to this day.
I use it if I want to hear a specific song. Otherwise it's annoying to listen to one song and then 3 minutes of commercials before hearing another song.
I switched to Pocket Casts. I like to have my podcasts queued up ready to move from one to another, maybe it's just mw but can't seem to do that on Spotify.
I do kinda wonder what would mine be. Since I ABRUPTLY switched from listening to my usual indie stuff to exclusively metal (and sometimes Gang of Youths, the only other thing that works for noise blocking) at work 😂

An unofficial app for youtube that you have to install manually or through f-droid. But it allows you to assemble playlists without an account, download stuff (alas not as mp3), and most importantly play music in the background. Absolute godsend, been using it for years.
Fair warning, every few months youtube does something and the app will break. But it just means you need to update it and then it's fine. I've been genuinely using it for like a decade, it's SO useful.
I'm working on this lol. feels especially icky as a musician, but my plan is just to buy like 15 bucks worth of music each month that I will own forever vs. paying that stupid company.
Nope I went from Winamp to iTunes to Apple Music to a hybrid of Apple Music , Bandcamp and soundcloud plus my own music files (flac etc ) over the last 25 years .
