We built a house on our subdivision a few years ago, and I honestly felt a weird sense of Victorian pride when reading all the BAL references.

It’s a gutsy article. The message about Climate Change causing these extreme events is rammed home - as it should be. The message that developers wrongly push against regulations needs to be put out there. The message that communities are now taking responsibility for informed responses is great!

I wish QLD was a lot more serious. Instead, many areas have land clearing laws that pretty much prevent effective attempts to improve fire safety around one's home.

Fantastic article and so good to see the mention of volunteer firefighters. My husband is one of them and has also played a huge part in an organisation called “Bushfire Ready” which helps the everyday person to prepare. Great apps are Emergency WA bushfire io and alert to me (Australia only).
