1/2 Nice to be reminded of the history of the German peasant rebellions 500 years ago. German theologist and rebel Thomas Münzer played a crucial role in the uprising. The Turkish writer Nidim Gürsel has written an interesting piece

2/2 comparing Münzer and Sheikh Bedreddin. The latter militated in a remarkably similar form of radical peasant rebellion in the Ottoman empire 100 years earlier and was executed by the Ottoman authorities in 1416.

Problem is to rise up it might be work. And def an inconvenience. Might interfere with the 2 day weekend. Might even cut into the 2 week vacation. And who is going to pick the kids up from school? An uprisen is not happening. No way. To inconvenient.
