Every six months Netflix releases a movie called some shit like THE WINDOW CLEANER and it stars four of the biggest actors in the world and you will never in your life meet anyone who has seen it.

I started watching one the other day and I swear it was so by-the-numbers it could have been written by an AI, and it felt like all the actors were directing themselves.
I feel like part of it (both the midness and the "who's even watching these" vibe) is that they're the modern equivelant of made for tv movies (which were generally fine, forgettable, and had zero cultural impact).
It's also a mix of like... Monoculture is in decline (there are so many options now), but also most movies from most eras got next to no attention. It feels like the 70s or 80s or 90s etc was nothing but blockbuster hits because only the hits get trotted back out.
I’m still not convinced half of the movies and shows on Apple TV even happened, it’s wild what media just poofs out of nowhere onto these streaming services and never gets talked about.
once there was a new Netflix movie I actually had interest in, and it took me 20 minutes to find it on their own app, it was absolutely hidden behind Home Improvement reruns

This is how I found out the movie "The Accountant" existed about a year ago 🤣
It was well intentioned, but wildly mid lol!
