Hammer House of Horror - the one where the pipes would rip out of the walls and poor blood. I was babysitting at the time in a house where the pipes made EXACTLY THE SAME NOISES.

I remember one where the nice lady on the bus turned out to be in cahoots with creepy guy. It cuts out before we discover what happens to the teenager. Scare might not be the right word, but it’s definitely impacted how I trust people

I was always terrified by the whole brainwashing/personality erasing trope in science fiction. Especially if it was the Doctor (or any protagonist) saying “what is your bidding, my master?” in a monotone.

It was one of the few programmes that we watched as a family, and I loved it even though it freaked me out. My big brother gleefully used to try to freak me out further whenever I tried covering my eyes to protect myself from the scary.

They talked about it on Blue Peter! Like it was Proper Family-Friendly Viewing and not Absolutely Terrifying!
I kind of remember seeing a Tripod model on the "makes" table, and being fully aware that the thing that scared me blind was only about a foot tall. Made no difference.

It's a bit weird how your rational brain can overcome some fears but not others. I remember not being especially scared of the Cybermen in Dr Who because they were clearly actors in slightly unconvincing costumes, but the Tripods weren't like that.

I wasn't scared of Cybermen because I was convinced they were allergic to milk.

Again, I suspect my brother to have been making fun of his sci-fi-enjoying but innocent little sister as to why I believed this.
