My problem with the "video games are bad and anti-social" is that
A. Video games are just as much media as movies, tv shows and books.
and
B. Play outside where? Outside is openly hostile all the time. Why go outside when I can play with my friends in the comfort of my home?

Books were even looked at as frivolous time wasters when they became popular especially anything fiction.
If VR had taken off as fast as tv and consoles it'd be the new big thing to hate especially since it's hands on

Even when I was growing up in the 90s when I was told to go play outside I had little to nothing to do, didn't help that our playground was often taken over by bored teenagers that draw graffiti all over everything.

The internet, increasingly Brought To You By Ads is all they have left.
But I remember coordinating 39 other people for a raid, managing attitudes, personalities, attention spans etc, all while it basically being a gaming hangout.
Video games are actually better than other media in that they work your puzzle solving skills and reflexes at all times, where as other media is passively watching, less brain activity.
In the end, no need to defend it. Be glad you're not the naysayers and keep on.
Outdoors: Asphalt or you can take the bus for 20 minutes to enjoy some decimated nature.
Indoors: Anything you want. Hobbies, games, arts and crafts, your very own toilet rather than pissing in an alley.
I was not too fond of playing outside when I was younger, but I am happy whenever I see kids playing outside in The Netherlands. Because it is safe. We look out for them.
As far as video games go, my husband is usually on the couch watching TV while I'm gaming in the next room.
Besides...👇
And the overwhelming majority of Street Fighter fans know this (I hope).
