Just in case you thought America is safe because of the 'Ocean', President Trump, the distance between Russia and Alaska is only 55 miles at its narrowest point.
Alaska consistently votes red and went to Trump by 13%. If it was attacked by Russia, surely Alaskans would willingly sacrifice their land to the invaders in order to have peace, right? That's how Trump told Zelenskyy it works. Alaska shouldn't have attacked Russia first.

Yeah - when people think of the entire planet they usually think of the Mercator projection and this angle isn’t something that a lot of people consider. Russia, Alaska, and Canada are all really close (and hell, Europe is too)

Alaska was once owned by Russia. They needed money so we bought Russia from them. Putin wants it back. He is trying to get back all of the “ property “ that was once Russia. He also stated Stalin gave up too much to the west.
I could see Trump trying to cut a ridiculously bad deal with Putin - he gets Alaska, Trump gets Canada. NATO (Europe) would be too stretched to help Canada, which would have foes putting pressure on across two fronts.
It's hard to read these dunks, knowing that neither I nor many of my family and friends voted to put us in our current situation, but they're all deserved. The US has lost respect that we might justifiably never get back.
He's got enough sycophants in office to survive that (again). Even if it happened, all the idiots that elected him will still be around to elect someone else just as, if not more, horrible. Hence, we wont be able to get that respect back.
