Are they banning books in all states? I want to import books that are only available from the U.S and I know they will get banned if they proceed with their banning list
Already have over 100 from my grown kids in HS - from their AP classes reading lists (at Catholic prep schools no less). Glad I never sold them once graduated. Guarding that book case like a bank. One day we can bring them back out!
We have these tiny little book cubbies like tiny libraries throughout the city! I’m considering putting them there. So they’re still publicly available.
Absolutely. Now is the time to buy and protect all books already banned and on the index to be sacked. Save them in any format. You could send them to a friend outside the border for safekeeping.
I have to say, as a 70s latch key kid, with a mom who never talked about sex, drugs or anything; I learned sooo much about life through many of today’s banned books.
No the real problem is that you think that it's banned. It isn't. And the call to ban it, along with Dr. Seuss' works a fews years ago, was actually spearheaded by liberals.
Most of these people that show up shouting at these public meetings haven't read a book since high school. Saw one of these crusaders interviewed who when asked said, "I haven't read it. I'm not going to read that trash and I don't want my children reading it." Good Nazi, parroting the party line.
I wish I had a large disposable income because I would like to flood the children's gift services with sweet books like Kittycorn that was named for using "they," as a plural pronoun, not in regard to gender but simply plural. The lack of reading comprehension and illiteracy is real.
I make that point because they are *technically* bans. But the word being used as is gives an opportunity to conservatives to say folks discussing it are in bad faith and overreacting about "protecting children," when that's not the issue.
Though some politicians/Church leaders 🔥📚🔥 for web clout.
not a good idea. yeah theres freedom braintickler books, but theres also books that teach you to torture people based on all groups and make weapons, theres satanic grimoire edgelord nonsense, theres literal pdfilia fantasy books in that category too.
My dad was an avid reader. I'm so grateful he let me start reading his books when I was in the 7th-8th grade. I like to tell people my favorite book as a child was The Godfather by Mario Puzo. I can't stand these book banners.
Well, they ARE the best books written. This younger generation will find them online & download them or buy them on thriftbooks/abebooks. Texas, of course, bans the most books annually
I do think it's funny that people are using a book's banned status to say it's worth reading. Some banned books are just bad lol. So maybe don't buy all of them.
Octavia E. Butler's "Parable of the Sower" written in 1993, set in 2025 shortly after the Nov. election of a dictatorial president who campaigned on returning the U.S. to its glory days. Buy a copy for everyone you know.

I wouldn't send 'Mein Kampf' to a Nazi.
A bit of a generalisation that.
You could shorten that to simply ‘buy books as presents’
here are some suggestions

If you don't use Spotify, just look up "I'll Read That Next" by Dharmika (that's me) on YouTube or whatever streaming service you use.

You only need to be sneaky and get them to actually read them 😉. Watch Princess Bride for tips 😇
But HEY! good job!
We had that in Germany/Austria a century ago. How it turned out is known or can be read in a book about WWII
Not all of them are simply for explicit "pornographic" content, but some due to the topic of race or gender.
They are legal to buy/own. It's not a full 1984 ban. Yet.
Though some politicians/Church leaders 🔥📚🔥 for web clout.
buy a4 paper as presents
I hope they like it.
Also it wasn't one book.
It was 100 :3
