Why could they not have coordinated though and put in broadband while all the other works were happening? No idea. I always wonder if this type of thing (that happens far too regularly) is a result of the nonsense attitude that councils have to use their budget up by xx/xx/20xx or their future budgets get reduced? You know when it's Halloween where I live because the road is always being repaired then.

This is terrible will check it out now, we weren't informed of this and we told no road opening permission would be given after completion that's why water pipes replaced and electric cables done in advance of new Cycleway and public domain works. Have messaged project engineer.

The tarmac will be needed to let the ground settle before laying a better permanent surface.
This only takes about 20-30 years, so that uneven tarmac is just a short term temporary measure

How can the likes of Prague, with beautiful hand laid cobbled footpaths, manage to dig them up to put down wires or pipes then re-lay the same cobbles?
Do those slabs get thrown in a skip or does some subcontractor get a nice s/h patio out of the job?
