We had the cookbook, it weighed about 20 pounds, leather bound with moire taffeta lining. We used to pour over it while listening to VP narrate war of the worlds on the turntable! LOL the 70’s !

Right, and this makes it (even more) difficult to figure out which are supposed to be the white pieces and which are the black. I have a hunch which is the queen and which is the king, but since the board is tilted I don’t trust that the king and queen are correctly placed either.
