This isn’t even about the candidate. This is the active campaign they ran on. “Don’t you just haaaaaate women?” won the popular vote against “No you don’t”. And of course the women they picked on the most were trans
People are still yelling at me because they think I’m saying Harris didn’t win because she’s a woman. No. I’m saying the Trump campaign ran on misogyny as its main platform, with transmisogyny as a central plank, and that was acceptable and even palatable to his supporters
There’s been a lot of talk on the Christian right about actually repealing the 19th amendment, because women shouldn’t be voting against their men. It’s ungodly.
Watch out for the phrase “common sense”. They’ll use it to excuse atrocities. Nuance is anathema to populism.
Also demonstrates how much we underestimate the power of intersectionality. In both directions. Feels like so many balance out the prejudices in their head, weighing up gender, race , sexuality etc vs your class and how useful you are to them before throwing people under the bus.
I've heard it described as after 8 years old a black man in charge, there was no way they were voting for someone like their mother in law in 2016.
I didn't have a lot of faith that a biracial/non white woman had any real chance. I hoped I was wrong but 🤷
Sorry for that, I kinda hate my country right now and that may be causing me to lash out. We just lost our democracy, not by coup or revolution, but by choice, threw it away. That stings.
I think people are reading too much into a candidate who has never won, and could never win, a single primary, being hand picked by one guy, and then going on to lose.
Millions of people liked HRC enough to not only nominate her, but also provide her with more votes for the presidency.
LITERALLY
Like I get the US especially isn't new to the whole hating women scene (looking at the stupid 'boys will be boys' shit from the so-called good old days) but also the fact that the US really has it out for women or just generally non-men people of color is scary as hell 💀

Doesn't mean every women would.
You don't get to support a fascist country and it's racially supremacist genocide for over a year and then claim you aren't also a fascist
I may be pregnant and severely attached to my bitch ass kid, but I'm still pissed Florida didn't get Ammendment 4 passed.
Even if I wouldn't pick abortion for myself, it sucks not having the option AND I can't do weed.
