I was convinced to get a card for the 50,000 miles. I have flown them one time so far but I have a few flights coming up.

Agreed. Flying out of ATL, prices are not significantly cheaper. In fact, they have reduced the number of flights on several key routes so with the removal of free checked bags, I’m finding it harder to justify continuing to fly with them. SW is my backup when I want to avoid Delta's high fares. 🙃

I have been flying for 50 years, and I can honestly say air travel in the last ten years has been the worst travel experience.

I'm tall, the seats getting tighter and shorter, and they nickel and dime you to death. Why would you want to set foot into a plane? Pure hell.

We haven't had an unusual number of planes "dropping out of the sky," and suggesting that flying – BY FAR the safest way to travel – is unsafe due to your own irrational fears is absurd.

Your odds of dying in a plane crash at some point in your life are 1 in 10 million – versus 1 in 200 for a car.

Yes, the FAA massively screwed up by not addressing its ATC problems earlier, but the US alone has over 45,000 commercial flights EACH DAY.

The midair collision was a tragedy, but also a freak accident in no way representative of the whole. But we still have 1.3 million monthly flights w/o issues.

Exactly - I used to go out of my way to fly SWA. Boarding was just better. I didn't feel like I was being micro-transactioned to death. I'd pay more for a ticket, I'd fly at less favored times. Now? They can only compete on price, race to the bottom it is then.

I only flew Southwest one time when I was flying around the country approximately 45 weeks per year for my job. Once was enough. Told my travel agent to never, ever book me with them again.
